Question What Was The Best Part Of The Decade For 80's Pop Music?

We all love 80's music. A big majority of us love the pop and Top 40 music of the 80s. In your opinion, if we break it down into three sections, which was the best part of the decade for this particular genre of music?

Actually, I'd say 1980-1986 for me. After that. top40 got boring and I was drawn into house music.

Ironically, dolphins thought they were more intelligent for exactly the same reasons.

Early 80's is my ultimate favorite. Especially songs from 1982 and 1983.

Definitely the mid 80s. My final years at High School to my first years in the work force.

Most of my all time favourite songs are from this era.

Ditto what the Smurf said... I'm always finding new music from each period I like a lot, but I've always been big on the mid 80's, so it gets the dupe

I cannot make my mind up. I just know it definatly isn't late 80s.

I am a New Romantic fan, so i should go for early 80s, but mid 80s was the time i started listening to music and so many memories are attached to the songs.

For me, my favorite music was from the years 1984-86, with '84 being my absolute favorite year! So many fantastic songs, artists and groups exploded onto the scene during that year, and the music scene has yet to see that sort of diversity since...

I wish we could choose two, because I picked early 80s, but I would also pick mid 80s too. So much good music between 1980 and 1986. The late 80s had some good songs, but it wasn't as good as early/mid 80s.

Went with Early 80's. I'm thinking that era of the 80's was filled with songs that made a lot of use of keyboards and synthesizers. The sounds had an out-of-worldly beat to it, which I tend to like

I voted for early 80s. I guess it's because that's when music really became "mine" instead of me liking music just because my brother or sisters liked it, if that makes any sense.
I like mid-80s a lot too. With several exceptions, I think music started a downhill slide in the late 80s.
