    Didja Know? - Bryan Adams

Did you know that Bryan is from Ontario, Canada, and his middle name is Guy?

In "The Summer Of '69", he would have only been 10 years old.

Bryan has two photography books out. The first is entitled "Made In Canada." It features all types of women, and the proceeds go to CBCF in Canada, which is involoved in breast cancer research and treatment. The second book, "Haven", also features many different women, and the proceeds go to the Haven Trust, which is a breast cancer support center in Fullum, West London.

He was born in Canada, but raised in many countries because his father was a U.N. diplomat.

Bryan quit school when he was 16 to go on tour with his very first band, Shock.

What do you know about Bryan Adams?

You'd like to think so, wouldn't you?
I don't know. I lost my psychic abilities when they stole my superhero powers.

Adams' first hit was a Canadian disco single in 1979 called "Let Me Take You Dancing".

Eric Carr, drummer for KISS in the '80s, has a co-writing credit on the "Cuts Like A Knife" album for "Don't Leave Me Lonely".

February 1st, 1985 was "Bryan Adams Day" in Los Angeles as proclaimed by the mayor.

Bryan Adams began his career as a songwriting partner of Jim Vallence, a former member of Prism. Vallence and Adams wrote songs for several Canadian rockers, including Loverboy and Bachman-Turner Overdrive, as well as Bonnie Tyler and Kiss.

Bryan Adams landed a solo record contract with A&M Records in 1981.

The only thing I know about Bryan Adams is that he dated director Ken Russell's daughter, Victoria (famous for protraying Sally Simpson in the movie version of Tommy, which was directed by her father). She's in the "Run to You" video.

Bryan's first band to produce an album was Sweeney Todd
in 1976 Bryan took over lead vocals after Nick Glider (later of "Hot Child In the City" fame) left
I have one of their 45s! Not bad!

Sweeny Todd had a minor hit with Roxy Roller (but I don't believe any copy's with Bryan Adams on vocals can be found)

His first BIG hit in Canada was Coming Home in 1981. It was followed by Fits Ya Good and Lonely Nights which all came from the album You Want It -- You Got It!

He released a non-album single in 1985 called Diana which was a modest hit here in Canada. The single also featured the Bryanadamix (a mix of some of his earlier Canadian hits)

the first single Open Road is already a chart hit here in Canada and the wonderful B&W video for it is in regular rotation on MuchMudic (aka Canada's version of MTV)
