Post New York area hard rock fans only

Hey everyone.....the only reason this message is for people in the NYC area is because only you can answer the question. (Unless you listen over the internet, that is)
I ask you this....What do you think is the better Sturday night hard rock music radio show? The Tour Bus on WDHA 105.5 from 8 to 12, or Saturday Night Rocks on WNEW 102.7 from 10 to 2?
Why do I ask? Well, most importantly, I wan't to help promote Eddie Trunk's show on WNEW, and second of all, I'm just damn curious!
The Tour Bus plays more pop and what they call "pary rock" (Poison, Warrant, you know, HAIR bands!) on their show, and just about every week they always have what ever band is playing the area in as guests. They have a syndication deal that gets them all up and down the east coast, and a popular web site.
All in all, everything one would want in a 80's metal radio show.
HOWEVER, for those of you who don't (or can't) hear them, I say this....I've heard better radio D.J.'ing on college radio! These guys are unprofessional, and to boot, sound like idiots! Now, I am NOT a D.J., so I do not, or cannot do any better. But I do know some people who are, and the professionals have seemed to agree with me. Plus, if you go to their web site, and to the message board, it's total anarchy! I've never seen such bulls**t and mudslinging on a message board! I am SO glad none of that goes on around here! But it would have to get real bad here to achieve that level.
Now, Eddie Trunk's show on WNEW is a bit different. New music, old music, heavy stuff, pop stuff. I don't know the Tour Bus guys radio background, but I know Eddie used to D.J. regularly on WNEW before they went mostly talk, on Q104.3 (classic rock) and on WDHA, back in the good old days, when they had their original metal show on Friday nights. Eddie has the "radio voice", even when you talk to him off the air or in the clubs! Not that that qualifies him, or makes him better, but he does sound more professional, and he has quite the quality guests on his show, due to his friendships and business connections. Now, what Saturday Night Rocks' problem is is that it's on a station that doesn't really promote it that well, doesn't have a syndication deal, and doesn't have it's own web site (though one is on it's way). Instead of hearing "Cherry Pie" for the 20th week in a row, I got to hear the new Rob Halford song last night, and an old Thin Lizzy song I never heard before. Now, I'm not a big Thin Lizzy fan, nor did I like the Rob Halford song, but I got to hear them. That wouln't have happened on the Tour Bus!
O.K., I'm done ranting, and sounding like a bitter, ungrateful person who should shut up and be happy that someone is playing 80's metal on the radio at all. Also, I just want to go on record and say that I DO NOT work for WNEW, nor am I personal friends with Eddie Trunk. Have I met him? Yes. Would he remeber me if I didn't tell him I was friends whith someone he does? Probably not.
So, with that, I await your thoughts, comments, and admonishments.

    Peace,

    R.A.

I haven't been on this board in a long time. How are ya Mr. Atello Bassist???? This post is great!!!!

Sorry, but I'm in favor of the tour bus. I think Eddie trunk talks too much and to me it seems like he is trying too hard to come across as knowledgeable. Ralph & Matt of The Tour bus DJ the way a DJ should - in a fun way, simular to The Howard Stern Show or Opie & Anthony do. I think they are entertaining and much more entertaining than Eddie Trunk could ever be. This man is just way too serious and needs to lighten up a bit.

The Tour Bus also plays more of the 80s rock that I like, party rock, hair bands. They are evening sponsoring my night at Limelight now. But everything i said above is the way I feel, I'm not just kissing their asses because I'm working with them now. I really think Eddie Trunk is boring as hell to listen to!

Hey Cruella! I haven't seen ya since Sunday nights at the Voodoo Lounge, how are ya? Speaking of the Voodoo, we'll be playing there this Saturday with Gilby Clarke! (can ya make it down?)

Anyway, you're right....Eddie is does tend to drone on and sound unemotional, but I like the fact that he IS knowledgeable...(I gotta give it to him, he knows his shit!)....Like I said, I've heard better D.J.'ing on WSOU, and that station blows 3/4 of the time! I wouldn't quite put Matt and Ralph in the same league with Opie and Anthony's broadcasting (in the gonzo style, of course!) abilities, but I get what you're saying...it's quite free form, not rigid sounding like Eddie, but I guess I like his shows' musical diversity.

    Moving on.....

That's very cool that you're involved with them and the Limelight.....My drummer tried to contact whomever's e-mail is on the flyer that we've seen around the clubs, so we can get involved in the rock nights, but no one got back to him...any suggestions? Contact names? NYC gigs have been very good to us, and to play the Limelight would be a big high for us!
If you talk to Ralph, he should remember who we are, and me especially (we have the same name, after all!) ...I had talked to him a couple of times via the phone and e-mail when the show first hit the air, and he (hopefully) still has a copy of the CD....I just wish he'd give us some equal air time like other local acts I've heard on the show! C'mon, we're good, we're radio quality, don't 'cha think? (LOL!)

O.K., gotta go work now, hope to hear from ya soon!

Excellent, Cruella! Big Al told us that we're on second that night, for an approxamate stage hit of 9:00.....Of course, rock n' roll ain't easy, so I'm sure that will probably change! Pagan from Livesay will be at the show too, so make sure you come over and say hi!

Woah there, Cruella, no such thought implied on my end! I'm just a bass player, my kind means no harm! Seriously, I'm glad you can come down to the show. You've heard the CD, and now you get to see the live extravaganza! LOL! I've never heard of Simulcast....what are they like? And, I've never heard Gilby play, except for what he did with Guns....I hope I can stay for the whole night, but I do have a long drive back to Jersey, after all! We'll have to see.

    C-U tomorrow night,
