Surprisingly I went with "Close To Me" from The Cure. Even though I'm a Duranie at heart I like that partiucular Cure song better.

Friese-Greene and the guys from Talk Talk swayed it for me, it was between that one and Planet Earth.

    Well,
I had to be different. I went with Kirsty McColl's New England. A wonderful song and a great singer

I'm with Lisa, surprisingly the Cure wins for me. My second choice was Talk Talk and if it had been any other Talk Talk song, I'm sure I would have voted for it over the Cure.

I have to be honest, Greenway and say that I would choose "Life's what you make it" over "Talk Talk" any day, but thats just my Humble opinion

"Black coffe in bed" is my favorite on this list. Squeeze is a wonderfully talented band! This would be my favorite song by them too.

DJ, I have to agree with you. "Black Coffee in Bed" is my very favorite from Squeeze. Squeeze was a very underrated group, and I wish it was more popular here in the States.

    Gold - Spandau Ballet.

All though "Close to me" by The Cure comes in a very close second!

Even though I LOVE "Planet Earth", I had to go with "Johnny Are You Queer" simply because it's from one of my all time favorite movies

Re: Favorite New Wave Song Part 2

I really liked Kirsty MacColl's voice

It was a sad loss in 2000
