Hehehe. Yeah, Tom Petty. They don't really fit anywhere else, except for Rock 'N Roll. Kinda like ZZ Top...

The disturbing thing on this poll is that I forgot to list Foreigner, Blue Oyster Cult, and Asia (at least parenthetically in the Other category), but kudos to LostInThe80s for bringing up Chicago (although I think of them as Top 40 material since they did a lot of Pop ballads)

Thanks for the honorable mention It's just that some bands I have no idea what category they would fit into... I don't really classify music..(except for the obvious),,if I like it, I'll listen to it. Let's take REO for example...they had rockin hits like RIDIN THE STORM OUT, BACK ON THE ROAD AGAIN..and then they did ballads like CAN'T FIGHT THIS FEELING & KEEP ON LOVING YOU.

Um, is there just a yes button for this poll?
I love just about every one on the list, especially Journey, Rush, Cheap Trick, Aerosmith, and Def Leppard. Had to go with Def Leppard 'tho. The concert memories are still fresh in my mind.

    I picked other

    I like Streetheart
They were a Canadian band known mostly in Canada. They did a wonderful job with their 1979 hit version of the Rolling Stones song 'Under My Thumb'

Re: Who's your fave Hard-MeloRock Band?

I chose Rush because they are my favorite on this list, but I'd consider them progressive rock, so maybe they're not the best pick here.

That said, this is a tough choice between so many great bands!

Streetheart , you've taken Canadian Pride to an all time low. These guys were the backup to the likes of Trooper, Prism and Chillowack.

The first concert I ever went to they didn't even both to put in seats in the rink , it was the famous Teaze and backup was Streetheart. Streetheart claimed to be insult rock, and went about asking everyone if we are all fishermen etc. So everyone was throwing stuff at them booing them off stage... Funny thing is they tried the same trick a few nigths later in a less civilized part of Nova Scotia... Apparently the audience attacked them on stage .........ahh the 70's and that was the end of insult rock
