I voted Skid Row, even though they don't belong on the list. Their first CD was a hair band CD, granted. However, their next two were just good ol' fashioned metal. In fact, "Subhuman Race" bordered on thrash!

With the exception of Guns 'N Roses and Bon Jovi, I thought the rest were perfectly good Hair Bands. They all looked very similar, so I can see there being some confusion. Never was much of a fan of the genre anyway

Would have definitely voted for Def Leppard, but I just chose out of the listed options and took Whitesnake.

Just out of curiosity I went to the AMG website. I know I should not believe everything I read on the internet, but you're right. With the exception of Gun's 'N Roses, the rest of the bands you listed are Hair Bands.

Hair Bands defined, more or less, by AMG

My mistake, I shouldn't have grouped Guns 'N Roses in this category. Sorry

Not to get anyones panties in a bunch then all bands from that era, including speed/thrash metal should be considered hair metal.

Slash does have a lot of hair though That's probably why quite a few people would think of them as a "hair band".

Their fanbase too. A lot of those fans were Hair Metal fans, so that kinda lumped G'NR into the Hair band category whether they wanted to or not

I went with Bon Jovi on this one, but it would probably change the more I think about it.

Yep he really tried out, here's an exerpt from http://www.geocities.com/skeletorsambora/cc.html

Poison guitarist C.C. DeVille was born Bruce Anthony Johannesson on May 14, 1962, in Brooklyn, New York. He later moved to Los Angeles to hit the glam rock scene. In 1985, Poison chose C.C. over Slash to become their guitarist (I've read that Slash didn't fit Poison's look, and that he wanted to play with a rhythm guitarist).

    Re: Fav Hair Band

Motley Crue had the biggest inflence on my musical tastes in the 80's, with GNR second later in the 80's.

But all of these bands are great, and I've always enjoyed their music!
