OMG!! Now THAT'S a close but no guitar to the extreme! I love that list, especially there are some decent songs that bubbled under and a shame didn't crack the Hot 100.

Daffy- A million thank you's for the bubbling under list! I have the 80's Hot 100book, but have pretty much looked up all the songs I'm interested in hearing. I know a "bubbling under" book exists but I held off on purchasing since it only extends until 1985. I now know what happened to some songs I remember seeing videos for in the 80's and also have some undiscovered 80's tracks to look up. Thanks again!

When I first saw the title of this thread, I thought it might be about the band 'King Of Hearts' They had an album titled 'Close, But No Guitar'

Since You're Gone - The Cars (1981) is another song that didn't make it past 41 on the chart.
