    Cool weightlifting

    To those that lift weights:

Would you mind giving me your workout routine?
It's time to change the workout (part of the lift is in your mind you know). It's time to change the repetition set and such.
Could you give me your sets and amount of reps? Mine is 1 set each:

    a 9
    a 7
    a 5
    a 3
    a 1
cool down with infinite (burnout) set of the lightest weight used on 9

    Thanks
    Steve

I've been lifting for years, and have NO idea what you're talking about here. Care to explain?

I was simply asking for a routine that you use to lift weights... example, mine was:

1 set of 9 reps of 45 lbs.
1 set of 7 reps of 100 lbs.
1 set of 5 reps of 155 lbs.
1 set of 3 reps of 210 lbs.
1 set of 1 rep of 265 lbs.
1 set of infinite reps of 45 lbs.

reps is the same for number of times

Hope this helps and thanks for any info

Steve....what are you doing...bench press? Lats? Biceps? You throw out a vague "routine" (which by the way, makes NO sense whatsoever....ONE rep? Why bother?) but don't specify what you're doing exactly....

Don't know why I'm even doing this....

    Re: weightlifting

Three sets....10 to 12 reps. The amount of weight you use should be enough so that by the 10th or 12th rep you are approaching muscle failure.

I don't know why you're staggering the weight and # of reps like that. It's pretty useless...

This is a stupid question but, you're only doing squats and bench presses? You'll need to do a lot more exercises.

For every exercies I do, I complete 3 or 4 sets depending on what my body tells me. As for number of reps, right now I'm doing 1 set of 10 reps (with enough weight that will make me barely lift the weight on the 10th), then 1 set of 8 (with more weigh thtat makes me barely list on the 8th) and then a final set with higher weight to bearely make it to the 6th rep. A few weeks from now I'll change my routine so my muscles don't get used to it.

For squats, I watch my back. You son't want to hurt yourself!

Ironically, dolphins thought they were more intelligent for exactly the same reasons.

That's what my past circuit training class taught us to do.
