Record producer Freddie Perren dies
Grammy winner Freddie Perren, who produced and wrote hit records for the Jackson 5, Gloria Gaynor, The Sylvers (Boogie Fever) and Peaches & Herb (Shake Your Groove Thing), died at 61 on Dec. 16. His death in Chatsworth, Calif., followed a long illness. Perren worked at Motown on the Jackson 5's first hits, including ABC and I Want You Back, and he co-produced Gaynor's I Will Survive, which won a Grammy in 1979.

Once again, I didn't recognize the name right off the bat, but man he produced some funky disco tracks that I love. He will be missed
