That's a record I don't have, and I wish I did. Yope he's still alive. How tragic to die so young.

I have discovered Nolan Thomas (born Marko Kalfa) is alive and well and is co-owner of a the male fashion company, Guido New York. Apparently he doesn't have fond memories as his days as a singer (according to some fans who have spoken about him). I was told by a fan named Amanda who spoke with him at his New York store that he claims producers Mark Liggett and Chris Barbosa (who wrote and produced his only album) owns the rights to all of his songs and that he doesn't make a penny off the songs. He has no desire to return to music and hasn't recorded anything (or performed) since 1986. The CD that is on eBay from time to time is a bootleg and if you listen to it with headphones you can clearly here vinyl noises.

that was informative. i wonder how the "he's dead" rumour started. i am not surprised that he did not profit financially from the single's sales. most teen acts are routinely taken advantage of by the recording industry, look at what happened to TLC! but i am glad he's okay and selling menswear. who knew?

It's a sad thing, but it seems that throughout the history of R and B a lot of black artests didn't receive proper royalties for the music they put out. Back as far as the 50s, people like Little Richard and Sam Cooke were terribly screwed by their record lable Specialty. It still gose on.

Actually, I checked out Wikipedia and there was no mention of his death. He is currently co-owner of the male fashion design company Guido New York.

He did release a single in 1989 entitled "Once Around The Block", under the name Mark Kalfa.

Nolan's real name is Marko Kalfa.
