HELP ME!! who covered this song?? Can't find my way home

    i already have

    blind faith
    house of lords
    steve winwood
    eric clapton
    traffic

but it's not who i'm looking for, can you tell me who else sang this song? not looking for the chics. it was a hair band.

    Can't Find My Way Home

    Come down off your throne
    And leave your body alone
    Somebody must change
    You are the reason
    I've been waiting so long
    Somebody holds the key
    Well, I'm near the end
And I just ain't got the time
    Well, I'm wasted
And I can't find my way home
    Come down on your own
And leave your money at home
    Somebody must change
    You are the reason
I've been waiting all these years
    Somebody holds the key
    I'm near the end,
And I just ain't got the time
    Oh, and I'm wasted,
And I can't find my way home
But I can't find my way home
But I can't find my way home
But I can't find my way home
But I can't find my way home
Still, I can't find my way home
And, I ain't done nothing wrong
But, I can't find my way home

The Swans did a cover of it. As did: Joe Cocker, Sneaker Pimps and Electronic

hhmmmmm......I seem to recall another hair band doing the song and me thinking at the time that i liked house of lords version better. I will keep working on it, however is it possble you might me thinking of Nitro? They have a song thats not the same but it is called "long way from home"? it sounds a little similer and sometimes I mix the two songs up. I'll keep thinking on it. good luck!

YES! you're hearing me! i thought it was house of lords but his voice is too raspy, this one more powerful... clear. it's driving me nuts. i hear it so clear in my head.

although it is not what your looking for Joe Cocker covered the song in 1992 in case you are collecting all versions of the song. ....I am still racking my brain o nthe other hair band that did it.

I do not believe Steve Winwood re-recorded the song as a solo artist. The song is not listed on any of Traffic's 12 albums.

Cool Re: HELP ME!! who covered this song?? Can't find my way home

I agree. The one on the Stevie Winwood best of cd is just a reissue of the Blind Faith original, not anything new.

The guy says clear voice. I'm thinking Snakes and Angels.
I uploaded a small clip of the song to my page.
    Check it out:

Also, another cover of it by band with clear voices is Heavy Metal Horns but I don't have it. But you can listen to samples of some of their other stuff to get an idea of their sound. Check them out here:

thank you guys so much! but unfortunately it's none of these the closest one is house of lords but i know it's not it. it's an 80's heavy metal hair band and it's slightly stronger/clearer/louder than house of lords.

    my search continues

Re: HELP ME!! who covered this song?? Can't find my way home

Hi! This thread is 14 years old, so I figured it's time to step in and see if I could help!

The other night, I had a song in my head. I thought the lyrics were "I can't find my way home" and I remembered that it sounded like a song by a hair metal band. I could swear it was from the trailer to the 1992 Brandon Lee movie Rapid Fire.

I couldn't find the song in the trailer, and through a bunch of searches (which led me to this forum), I looked at the movie's song list. I know you posted lyrics above, but I think this might be the song you were looking for all those years ago...

I hope that's it, and I hope the last 14 years have been amazing to everyone on this thread. If this helped you out, let me know. Either way, take care and best of luck in all you do! - lionbatcher
