Awesome Weekend
Got an awesome weekend planned this week.
I'm going to go see Styx, Foreigner, Kansas, and Def Leppard.
I'll write about their performances. Might even have some pictures.

Re: Awesome Weekend
Thanks.
It was an awesome weekend indeed.
We missed out on seeing Kansas because they were the opening act. I'll have to catch them somewhere else.
Foreigner was good. Sounded good. I was a little disappointed that they didn't play "Waiting For a Girl Like You" and "I Want to Know What Love Is". They did apologize for not having more time, though.
I was never really a big Styx fan, but they rocked the house.
Def Leppard was just flat out awesome.
It was a dream come true for me to finally see them. They sounded great. Played a lot of their great songs. They did one cover song, which was disappointing because they could have easily chosen another one of their great songs to do.

Re: Awesome Weekend
Sounds like an amazing concert. I've seen them all seperately before. They all put on a good show. Glad you had a good time.

Re: Awesome Weekend
Thanks.
The cover song they did is a song that everyone knows. I'm a little bit disappointed for not really knowing the lyrics or the name of the song.
Sounds like this:
"Hey, kid! Rock and roll! Rock on!"
It's either "kid" or "you".
It also has the words "Jimmy Dean" in there somewhere.

Re: Awesome Weekend
I think that's "Rock On". You're right. They could have done a better job of picking something from their own back catalog. Just out of curiousity, what was the earliest song of their own that they did? I'm guessing something from Pyromania, but I'm hoping for something from High 'N' Dry.

Re: Awesome Weekend
They played "Foolin'" pretty early on.
Instead of "Rock On", they should have just done something like "Too Late For Love". A lot of people in the crowd was chanting for that song.

Re: Awesome Weekend
Sorry. No pictures.
I forgot to tell my buddy that the venue doesn't even bother checking for cameras. They have signs that prohibit cameras, but those signs are just for decorations.

Re: Awesome Weekend
I think Joe explained the reason they were doing a cover or two at their shows is because they are (or already HAVE) put out a cd of covers. All of their 70s rock heros. I think it's rather cool!
However, when DL came to Orlando, we got a FULL kick ass show packed MOSTLY with On Through the Night, High N Dry, Pyromania, and Hysteria. Very little stuff past Hysteria.
I was happy as hell, since the early stuff was MY Def Leppard era. Totally lost my voice for about 3 days from singin' so hard!
Tesla opened for them, so it was an all around AWESOME show.
Glad you enjoyed the show Jackdacrack!

Re: Awesome Weekend
A cover CD performed by Def Leppard? I'd check that out.
You know what would be cool? A Def Leppard cover CD itself.
