I already had the hard cover of this, but I recently got the audio version of, "I Like You: Hospitality Under the Influence" by Amy Sedaris. This is hysterical. And the audio book comes with recipes from the book. I've actually have had some of the recipes, my Mom tried once, and they are really good. Amy, like her brother David, is very talented.

I just finished THE HEROIN DIARIES by Nikki Sixx of Motley Crue. It's a years worth of diary entries he made while he was out of his mind on heroin and cocaine. It's a miracle he's alive today. After the entry, there's commentary either by him, or by people he was close to that were talked about in the entry. Very entertaining reading, but scary when you think of how absolutely bat shit crazy he was/is.

The Lovely Bones - By Alice Sebold

The book is set in the early 1970ís. Ití about a 14yr old girl named Susie Salmon who is murdered by her next-door-neighbor. Donít worry; Iím not giving anything away. You find this out just by reading the cover flap. She then goes to heaven and watches things unfold within her circle of family and friends in the land of the living. A very good read. Peter Jackson (The Lord of The Rings director) is currently shooting the film version.

Tempest Frost will approve of this one. I bought "The Zombie Survival Guide" by Max Brooks. Being a zombie horror fan, I just couldn't resist it. And happy to say, that a large percentage of the knowledge in it, I had learnt myself from my own research

Some very amusing stuff in it, but also some real dull detail!

One Hundred Strokes of the Brush Before Bed by Melissa P.. A scandalous bestseller when it was originally published in Italy, it has gone on to sell over two million copies worldwide. The book is the author's tale of her sexual awakening as a young teenager and was written when she was only nineteen years old!

Re: What books have you bought lately??

Recently, I bought Transformers: The Reign of Starscream from Barnes & Noble (an actual bookstore).

Even more recently--via Amazon.com (yes, online)--I bought four more Transformers trade paperbacks.

    • Transformers: All Hail Megatron (Volume 1), written by Shane McCarthy and drawn by Guido Guidi
    • Transformers: Maximum Dinobots, written by Simon Furman and drawn by Nick Roche
    • Transformers: Revelations, written by Simon Furman and drawn by various artists
    • Transformers: The War Within Omnibus, written by Simon Furman and drawn by Don Figueroa

All Hail Megatron, Revelations and The War Within Omnibus are scheduled to be released in late February or early March. Maximum Dinobots is scheduled to be released in late June or early July.

I didn't buy this one, it was given to me by the teachers in my latest Sunday School class. It's called "The most important place on Earth, what a Christian home looks like and how to build one" by Robert Wolgemuth. Great read!!!!

Re: What books have you bought lately??

I haven't really bought any for a bit. There are TONS for free out there for download. I love to have the book right in my hand, I am a "tire kicker" that way, but the classics are always widely available and I love to tackle them. This way I can print them out, make notes in them about definitions (some of the old phrases from 100+ years ago, the spellings and the word usage compared to today) and not feel bad about marking them up. Then, I can find a copy of it somewhere to own

Most of these old classics have passed from their original copyrights and therefore, libraries. preservation societies and the like put them out there online free for the taking.
