The only song I can remember is the song in the final scene, "Everytime you go away", which was a hit for Paul Young in the 80s. I always struggle to prevent a tear from coming to my eye in that scene.

That song was written by Daryl Hall and appears on the Hall and Oates album "Voices" (I think 81 or 82) in it's original version, and it's soooooo sad and haunting the way he sang it. It's about his very brief and turbulent marriage (They were both teenagers). He never got married again and a few years ago, broke off the 30 year relationship he had with the woman who inspired the song "Sara Smile"

    You gotta hear that one!

Nooo, not blabber! Great stuff, as I always wondered what that song was about. During the early years there were a few credits on the H&O album production to Sara Allen - could this be same lady?

Fast forward to the piece of instrumental music towards the end of the movie, where Steve Martin finally feels he can lat last ook forward to getting home without further hitch, and starts to think about his family and all the silly things he got up to with John Candy along the way...
