    Newbee from Down under

Gidday all. Have just explored the world of the 80s on the net, after stuffing around on my website reviewing (in a very Aussie and comical way of a child o the 70's & 80's) the hits of 70's and 80's songs each week.
Had no idea so many forums were out there. These are great.
Looking for ideas and am an avid fan of all that was (or still is) glam and 80's.
As far as my 80's addiction goes, "Countdown" (equivalent of "top of the pops" or "solid gold" - dependent on country) was my staple growing up and looking forward to a musical comedy based on it starting Jan 09 in Melbourne
We run a "mimesational" cover (if yo can call it that) band called "cleavagedownunder" and hope to have a gig in Melbourne soon as even bad mime need rehearsals. But the website explains. Mostly how unstable we all are!
If you can suggests songs for review, feel free to comment on the site, otherwise keep rockin!

    Re: Newbee from Down under

and for those interested, I have comically reviewed a old 1980's Aussie song "What will we be singing in the 80's" by The Monitors. For those that may be from UK, this film clip featured the "Blakeney twins" who were only about 12 in this clip, but went onto star in "Neighbours" (Aussie and UK soap) and very average 1990's record deals. But read the review to learn
    all at www.cleavagedownunder.com
PS is this the right location to talk about song reviews, or should I be somewhere else?????

    Love "The Captain"

Generally if someone posts links in the intro area it may be construed as Spam (Don't quote me on that though). I checked your link and it's hardly spam.

If it's ideas your looking for, this is the place! Look around! Ideas abound! We have folks here into Every genre the 80s had to offer! Oh and a few human encyclodedias at that! Someone is bound to be of service to ya!

CDU looks like it might be a fun act to catch. If you guys ever make it to the states I'd have to look you up mate!

We will play weddings, Bar Mitzvahs, any reason really. We were looking forward to a "sponsored" trip to the "imaginative" European country of Dobriabiancshkiy for a Feb 29th "Donkey Aid" tour, but it has not been confirmed yet! (A mates idea, mainly on facebook!)
But I will keep plugging that in the middle of a world financial crisis, some rich person with far too much money, wants the CDU crew to play in their country (well mime mostly bad 70's and 80's songs really!) and fully sponsor the rock lifestyle that "the Captain and the band" thinks the are entitled to! But we will wait and see I suppose............

    Re: Newbee from Down under

This week, I review why the heck we are doing what we do! The fact we were kidnapped by DJ's in the late 80's and frozen as we were "rude and disrespectful...." I do go on, but ........
Need motivation for a song review this week. Was going to do: "Gotta start pulling myself together" by the Nolans (sisters) but I could not bring myself to watch the clip..........

What to do, what to do.........

    Re: Newbee from Down under

Been a bit distant due to work commitments (especially with the bushfires that have hit our state in the last few weeks) so here is a plug for the album (K-tel compilation ones) that I have reviewed - er made fun of!
PS if there is a better place to post em, let me know! :-)
Review of Hitwave (it is 1978 but added to my site anyway)
    [URL=http://www.cleavagedownunder.com/?p=392[/URL]
Squeezed out - a fair dinkum K-tel review from 1980

and another craptactular one: Thru the roof 1983
    http://www.cleavagedownunder.com/?p=201
In fact I will start a post about really bad album titles from K-tel and the like.
Where/which section should I post it in?
