WEP Is a bit old and more vulnerable to breaking into. It relies on radio waves. Hence the insecurity. It is fairly easy to decode.
Your best bet is to use WPA or WPA2. WPA2 uses an AES-based algorithm, CCMP, which is considered fully secure.
