80s Music. Has it improved in the last 10 years?

Already pretty much covered this in a previous thread, but thought it would be cool to do some polls.

In general, has is music now compared to ten years ago. Has it improved?

Is it better than 80s music?

What are your favorite musical artists at the moment?

    …………………………………………

I think the 90s and even 00s were crap when it came to modern music, but now things are definitely improving. I am liking a lot of modern artists now and even buying some of their albums, however I still wish I could go back to the 80s and just have 80s music. But in the last 10 years I think it has definitely improved.

    My favourites at present are:

    Muse
    Lady Gaga
    Coldplay

No better no worse. Different eras need to be judged differently. I like a lot of music from a lot of different decades.

I tend to agree with Daffy on this one. I like music of every decade and almost every genre including the stuff today. I got playlists on my ipod dedicated to them all, so I can listen to whatever decade the mood calls for... 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s... I even got some 40s music in the mix 80s music on the overall is still the most fun to listen to, though for me.

I voted no better no worse. I have a VERY wide spectrum of music that I appreciate. Like Roemello, I can go from one extreme to another. I have thrash metal, death metal, freestyle dance, techno, classical, Frank Sinatra, blah, blah, blah. I can go on forever - with what's on my iPod...

I pretty much listen to 80's music exclusively. Most of it is very fun and melodic and reminds me of great times from my youth. I just can't listen to the songs from today that are autotuned. It's hard to understand the lyrics and it just seems so pre-produced with no heart.

In some ways it is worse (for example today's pop music). I can't stand the autotune stuff either. On the other hand, there are a few good bands like The Killers, The Darkness, Arcade Fire, & Franz Ferdinand that I enjoy. The '80s is still my favorite decade of music and probably always will be.
