Arrow Obscure Or Forgotten 80's Hair Bands

There were so many different hair bands in the 80's that I can remember them all sometimes. We always hear about Poison, Motley Crue, Def Leppard, Warrant, etc. What are some one album hair bands, some not so talked about hair bands, or some bands that were great and never got the credit they deserved?

I am asking because in the last two years I have really gotten back into hair bands. I'm trying to get ideas for new bands to listen to or to buy their CD's. So really think back if you could, please.......

Honeymoon Suite had that "I Got A New Girl Now" song that was sooooo good. I was looking for that album a while back and picked up their "other" CD...um, not so good

And "Turn Up The Radio" by Autograph. That's actually a really good album.

Billy Thorpe "Children Of The Sun" - now that's a great LP. As far as forgotten goes, that one probably qualifies. Children got a lot of airplay but his band and the rest of the album got short shrift.

I'll probably think of more later
Space cadet: n person who does not have both oars in the water, lacks complete string of lights, is not playing with a full deck; a dumb bunny. [not an astronaut.] "Like we're in Jennifer's new Rabbit convertible, and like she's such a total space cadet, we like park at the Galleria, and then she like totally loses the car!"

Helix wasn't the most talented band in the world but I give them high marks for effort. Too bad they jumped the shark after the sad death of guitarist Paul Hackman in '92.

If you have some time visit www.planethelix.com, there's a LOT of old '80s pictures and road stories to go through, if you're fascinated with the documenting of an '80s band that never quite made it. ROCK YOU!!!!

I am still on the floor laughing that Danger Kitty is a real band. I thought they were made up for that commercial.

And Creeps, thanx for mentioning Keel. My husband loved them, but lost his fave album by them. Tears Of Fire and Because The Night were awesomely done.

You'd like to think so, wouldn't you?
I don't know. I lost my psychic abilities when they stole my superhero powers.

Wow. Between Creeps and Lipstikk_n_Leather's lists, I honestly forgot what decade it was! Way cool you two. You both mentioned some great, and sadly forgotten bands. *Sigh* I miss the glory days.

And I'm with Val....Danger Kitty...LOL!! How funny! I thought they were made up too!

hey no problem, glad I could help out... there's a lot of good hair bands from 90-92 as well that came and went fast.. I love em, but didn't post em.

I used to DJ an 80s night in town and when we needed people at the bar buying drinks I would play a couple obscure 80s hair stuff...

I'd do contests that no one would win...

I'd play "Rock & Roll Is Gonna Set The Night On Fire" by Pretty Boy Floyd and tell everyone that whoever could tell me that sings this song would win a $100 bar tab.

Good thing I know my town otherwise I'da have to pull out the old Visa and make good on that one heh heh

Wow, break out the aqua net!! Those lists really brought back some memories. I've found a lot of CD's at a local CD Warehouse and the guy who runs it is a major Metal and Hairbands fanatic. He's got the best collection I've seen and I've bought quite a few. Told him about the xchange too. He's got some really scary stories.
Rock, be rocked, or get the &%$@ out of my way!

    Cool

No one mentioned Tuff yet. They we're great. Nice to see all the bands being listed though. Another good place to look for 80's metal cds is www.tuffcds.com. The site is run by Stevie Rachelle of Tuff. I've gotten a few really good cds there. Just ordered a Sleeze Beeze cd and one by Hericane Alice. Can't wait to get them.

I woulda been all over that one Creeps! I love PBF! Glad you mentioned them. A lot of people just thought they were a Crue rip off, but I really enjoyed them a bunch.
