Ahhh! The poll crawls writhing from the grave!

Actually I wish I'd voted for "mostly glam and some metal". I have a stricter definition of metal than what I had a year ago.

I also voted "mostly metal and some glam"

I think they started out to be a metal band, but when the glam scene busted out big in LA they changed their game plan.

If it weren't for glam, I don't think the Crue would have enjoyed nearly as much commercial success. They may not owe it all to Maybelline and Aquanet, but it certainly helped.

    It's a MIND game, baby!

I'm gonna have to say Mostly Glam, Little Metal. I am a huge fan of the Crue, and they have a bunch of Killer Rocker Songs,......but this band has been Glam from the start,.............

They drafted Vince Neil as a lead singer because he already looked and dressed "glam". It took a lot of work in the early days for vince to even be able to sound decent on stage. This proves to me , they cared more about "The Look" then the "sound"

    Great Rockers,.........Great Songs,..........Not mostly Metal.

    Just my opinion.............

I picked Mostly Metal with Some Glam. Jasper put it best I think:

Jasper I have to say I agree 110% with you on your assessment!

I also went with mostly metal, some glam. I agree with Jasper, 'Shout At The Devil' is a perfect example of that

I'd say mostly glam with a little metal. To me Shout at the Devil is a metal album but the rest really weren't, IMO!

I would have loved to see them on Sunset Strip back when they were starving musicians....they had such a huge following.I came to be a fan after Too Fast for Love...and now with all the drama, headlines, & reunion, I am just happy to have them back being Crue!

Don't know how this made it near the top of posts when the last one was in 2007, but .......

Why try to classify them. I like them and don't give a flying fox what preconcieved genre they are supposed to fit into.
