Oooh! Wow! Somebody mentioned Hanoi Rocks! Awesome! I was about to name that song too!

I can't even think of any that have not been mentioned here already. Some of you even mentioned 90s Power Ballads! Ok, ok. I'll just go ahead and name some that came to mind even if they've already been mentioned...

    "Don't Cry" by G 'N R (this is 90s, right?)
    "November Rain" by G 'N R (I think this is also 90s...)
"Wind Of Change" (This one also came out in 1990 or maybe it became really popular because of the Berlin Wall...)

Hmmm. I also really love "The Flame" by Cheap Trick. It probably is the best Power Ballad ever made, imho And nobody here mentioned it (yay! I got one in!).

I heard a power ballad on the radio the other day, and of course can't remember who sang it -- the guy's voice sounded a little like Steve Perry, but it wasn't a Journey song. I do remember that it wasn't a band - it was just a guy's name that I wasn't particularly familiar with, but the song was really big when I was in high school (late '70's, early '80's). At any rate, at the beginning of the song, before it kicks into high gear, the lyric is, "She was just 16..."

I can't remember any more of it, and must own it!! Can anyone help me?

    thanks!!

    Re: Favorite Power Ballad

this is soooo difficult because it depends on the mood i am in.

    but here are a few:

whitelion: till death do us part (got married on this song)
dream theater: the spirit carries on (wonderfull vocals & guitars)
mike tramp: the good the sad & the ugly (full of emotion)
bon jovi: dry county (really the best song they made)

    but there are so many...

    also....,

    queensryche: silent lucidity
    extreme: more than words

i think i stop now because there are thousands i like.

    greets,

    arie
