Tangier was a great band that didn't get the exposure they deserved. I just listened to both of their albums last night, and I can honestly say there's not a bad song among them
"I swear on tomorrow, if you take this chance
Our lives are this moment, the music - the dance
And here in this labyrinth of lost mysteries

One group I haven't seen mentioned is the London Quireboys. Their album, "A Bit of What You Fancy" is a pretty good album. I saw this band (other than their music videos) once on Headbangers Ball. Based on reviews and personally listening to clips from their latest album (Call It Rock N' Roll, 2002) IMO London Quireboys could be classified as a one-album wonder.

"Platinum Blonde" was one of my favorite bands in the 80's..and the lead singer Mark Holmes has recently put the "band" together again and recorded a new album.........a different sound but I still love his voice.
Although I don't consider these hairbands, it's nice to see Canadian bands recognized, Honeymoon Suite, Platinum Blonde, Headpins and April Wine. All these bands are still doing festivals and the odd concert......it's great hearing them again.AYLA
OK I'm back .........what have i missed fill me in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In Loving memory of my dad who passed away July 4,2008. Miss you terribly

Correction
Guano apes - formed in early 90's, made their breakthrough around 1997, not an 80's band.
Backyard Babies - Swedish band, formed around 1989, made their breakthrough around 1997-98, not an 80's band.
The Donnas - Formed in late 90's, made their breakthrough just a few years ago, not an 80's band.
Beautiful creatures - Formed in late 90's, have they had a breakthrough? Consists of some members of old obscure hairbands though. Not an 80's band!

Trixter's debut was in May 1990, although you may claim them under the same "lingering 80s spirit" clause that saddles the decade with Vanilla Ice.

Beautiful Creatures - the ULTIMATE rock band of the new age!!
I stand by my claim... buy this album now.
and for the record the singer is JOE LESTE. You may remember him from BANG TANGO.

So many bands-so little hairspray!
One of my favorite bands of the 80's which I find no one ever mentions is Cinderella. I think they are amazing I love there music they are good rock music they kick Poison out of the water I like Poison but I find they are just a big fluff band.
I saw Cinderlla in concert with Poison, Slaughter and Dokken last year or the year before and Cinderella kicked ass!
This year I am going again to see Poison, Cinderella, Winger and Faster Pussycat.
I am only going only because Cinderella is there and I have like killer seats. Cant wait!
Question? What did Zak Wilde to in the 80's I remember the face, the name but not what he did. I know he is now touring with Ozzy as his guitarist(is that a word) as I just some them about a month ago, can anyone tell me!
I have to agree it is nice to see some great bands like Honeymoon Suite and Platinum Blonde mentioned. Platinum Blonde is one of my all time favorties ( they make me very hyper)

I saw that concert too! They were all excellent!
Lipstikk N Leather!
That list was awesome! You brought back so many memories! I see you mentioned my local band, "ROXX GANG". I used to go see them play out all the time. Kevin Steel, what a hoot! I think the original drummer left to go play with Savatage in the early '90s...
"ROXX GANG" is still around, infact I think they are playing at a local club in a few weeks.
