Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that when the country became "PC" is when all those school shootings and all the other insanity started(or shortly therafter)I think the more restraint you put on people, the more violently certain people will tend to react to being "clamped down upon" by society.

I agree, it's like squeezing a bottle of opened toothpaste, it bursts out.

The more laws a country makes the more crimes are committed, if they wanna lower crime why not just get rid of all those dumb laws? lol To me. the only true crime (Or sin for that matter) is harming someone else that didn't harm you first.

I HATE political correctness. Especially that Speedy Gonzealaz (sp) thing...of all the cartoons to get upset about, Speedy Gonzealaz? What about South Park? That is much more offensive than a little cartoon mouse ever could be. Some people just need to lighten up and get over themselves!

Cartoon Network felt that he represented Mexicans in a negative fashion.

You know what I say? F*ck political correctness! And f*ck frivolous lawsuits too!

There was a woman in Michigan who put a Pop Tart in the toaster and decided to leave her house for 20 minutes. When she got back, her house was going up in flames. Turns out the toaster jammed and the Pop Tart burned up. She is now suing Kellogg's, even though all boxes of Pop Tarts have a warning that reads, "DO NOT LEAVE YOUR TOASTER UNATTENDED" on them.

Oh, and from what I've heard, the next thing that's gonna happen is we're gonna have a bunch of fat people suing the FAST FOOD INDUSTRY for promoting unhealthy products. So it's McDonald's' fault that you're fat? Look, five years ago I weighed 300 pounds. I weigh just under 200 pounds now, and guess what? This morning I had a sausage, egg and cheese Croissan'wich and some french toast sticks at Burger King. I plan on going to the gym later. So get up off your lazy, self-victimizing asses and EXERCISE!

I also like what Dennis Miller had to say about the woman who sued the tobacco industry and won $51M from them. He said:

"Hey doll, if you're out there watching the show tonight, I want you to turn down your iron lung for a moment so you can hear this: WHAT THE F*CK DID YOU THING WAS GONNA HAPPEN?! Smoke is a carcinogen. You inhaled it. Case closed. Just because I get my crank caught in my zipper doesn't mean I get to sue Levi-Strauss."

I guess it's time for me to sue all cookware manufacturers and the descendents of the inventor of the saxophone since I'm left-handed. Oh wait; I forgot...I actually took the initiative to learn how to operate a can-opener all by myself.

Sorry...in case you couldn't tell, political correctness is something that gets on my nerves. *lol*

    Good stuff there!

The latest (in a long line of) frivolous law suits my fiancee read in the paper yesterday is as follows:

Apparently some snack food company (hostess, or somebody) mislabeled the "nutritional content" info on one of their products (something very negligable, like 120 calories per serving, instead of 140 calories). They recalled this product immediately after realizing their error. Well, it apparently wasn't fast enough, because some piece of trailer trash is suing them for $50 million, claiming that they "screwed up her diet", and have caused her great mental anguish!

I love this nonsense. Where does she get the $50 million figure from? I guess that is the going rate for a "non-anguished" state of mind these days.

The thing that completely baffles me is this: OK, I realize there are dirtbags out there that will try to sue anyone in order to strike it rich. But why the hell do the courts allow these shams? What court in their right mind awards $50 million to some moron who clearly is just trying to abuse the legal system?

Did you hear about the elementary school in Florida where the principal banned any class from playing "musical chairs"? According to the principal, it is forbidden to be played because it "favors the stronger and more physically able kids."

So I guess if we eliminate competition, everyone's problems will suddenly go away, right? That's just great. I'm happy to know that after all the hard work I've done and the determination I've used to be among the best, that I'll be rewarded with nothing in the end simply because it might hurt the feelings of someone who didn't work as hard. Well boo-freakin'-hoo! I'm climbing the ladder and kicking the protesters in the face on the way up! If I were the first one knocked out of a game of musical chairs, you know what I'd do? I'd go home and lift weights and eat right so that I could kick some ass the next time I played it!

What next? Are we gonna ban "four corners" because it promotes discrimination? *lmao*

P.S. to 80sAlive.com: If only I had $50M, then I could buy myself some peace of mind. *lmao*

Something tells me that most of these frivolous lawsuits come about as nothing more than a way to get quick money --- which will immediately be wasted.

One other thing I might add: Isn't it ironic how we're all supposed to be politically correct, yet many of the songs and movies you hear nowadays are much much much much much more offensive than pretty much anything before political correctness became en vogue? I swear, half the songs I hear today make "I Want Your Sex" sound like a gospel song! As for prime-time TV...you can show movies with all the gratuitous sex and violence in them, but you must always remember to bleep out the naughty naughty cuss words. *lol* Funny how political correctness has actually accelerated moral decay in this country.

Political Correctness will never go away. You see, there is a political party in this Country that believes that the Constitution Of The United States protects you from being offended. In other words, you have a Right not to be offended. Now I'm probably going to make a lot of you made when I write this. But that type of thinking does not come from the Right. It comes from the Left. Political Correctness is just another name for " The Thought Police".

I'm a Libertarian. I have know use for the Right or the Left. But I will say that the Left scares me more on this issue then the Right does. When you look at all the PC groups that are out there. They align themselves with the Left not the Right.

The frivolous laws suits that have been mentioned here. You can thank the Trial Lawyers for all those too. Which Political party always gets the endorsements of the different Trial Lawyers Associations in this Country? I think we all know the answer to that.

Here is an example of PC.
If I say "Sen. Ted Kennedy is a Leftist Socialist wacko". That's no big deal. But if I say "Jesse Jackson is a Leftist Socialist wacko". They call me a racist.
(By the way, they both are Leftist Socialist wackos.)

And this is why I have no use for any politician(maybe except for a new cleaner burning source of fuel )I think the big problem is that there is always going to be someone who is offended by something and no one wants to look like the bad guy. From stereotyping,to Reparations to the decendants of slavery,to apologizing to Japan for dropping atomic bombs on them in the 40's,to rediculas lawsuits, where does it all end.

It's like the case of John Demjanjuk ,this man was deported to stand trail for allegidly being the notorious Nazi prison guard Ivan the Terrible.(Punishable by Death)He was eventually aquitted by an Israili court, comes back to this country, and because many people still believe he is this Nazi guard, the U.S is working on having him deported anyway(they claim he's not Ivan but he was a guard at yet another camp)Now an Israili court found him innocent but the U.S still wants to punish this man(in his late 80's I believe)all because of public oppinion. This is what political correctness leads too,an proven innocent man being punished.
(This,I agree,is a drastic example, but it's all part of the same PC Demon)

There's a quote I've read that sums up the whole PC debate for me(I don't rember who the quote is by)

"Without the right to offend, the right to happiness means nothing."(or something like that)

    Nuff said.
